The California Bus Association, in conjunction with agency partners and industry leaders, is pleased to present this year's Southern California seminar. This year's edition will feature two terrific sessions designed to inform you about two pressing issues faced by operators today. Lunch is included with your registration.
Session 1: Vehicle Ramming Threats and Protective Measures
Would-be terrorists can be stopped by some of the least-intrusive and lowest-cost means available: meaningful security awareness. Drivers and staff who both remain alert to potential threats and report suspicious activities to appropriate authorities are the most effective means of detecting acts of terrorism by commercial vehicle. Attend this session to learn directly from TSA staff how you can help protect your staff and passengers from this threat.
Session 2: DOT Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training
Federal regulations require supervisors of commercial motor vehicle drivers who operate vehicles that require a commercial driver license to take 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of alcohol abuse and another 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of controlled substances use (120 minutes in total). The purpose of this training is to teach supervisors to identify circumstances and indicators that may create reasonable suspicion that a driver is using or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, supporting referral of an employee for testing. This session, presented by Bob Crescenzo via the generous support of Lancer Insurance Company, is a great opportunity to train your future supervisors or provide a refresher for your current management team..
